The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii is an equal opportunity employer. For more information on legal aid, see www.legalaidhawaii.org Volunteer Lawyers and an Americorps Lawyer provide limited legal information to assist self-represented litigants in district and family court civil matters. Assistance is provided on matters related to landlord cases, debt collection cases, district and family court injunctions, divorces, custody and other matters. Support may take the form of providing court forms, reviewing court documents for interpretation, or ensuring that forms have been completed correctly. In addition, volunteers try to answer as many procedural questions as possible. The Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, a nonprofit law firm, strives to provide civil justice services to those who need them most throughout the state of Hawaii. Our mission is to provide foundational legal services that address critical legal needs through quality legal advocacy, public relations and education in the pursuit of equity and justice. Our team of dedicated advocates come to work every day with a dedicated desire to help and serve our community. The PSC is staffed by volunteer lawyers and AmeriCorps lawyers.

The Hawaii Legal Aid Society is a nonprofit public interest law firm dedicated to achieving equity and justice through legal advocacy, outreach, and education for those in need. As our vision indicates, we live in an unjust or, at best, not yet just society, with structural inequalities, economic injustice and unequal access to the justice system. To address this, we focus on essential legal services for those who need them, whether through direct services, helping people help themselves, advocating for others, or educating people. The provision of legal services is our unique contribution. You can apply online, by phone at 800-368-1019 or by mail. Thank you for the availability of legal services.
