Due to the number of devices and screen sizes available today, responsive design is a must, especially when creating surveys. The GDPR provides several legal bases on which the collection and processing of personal data can be based. In order to be able to process personal data lawfully, at least one of these reasons must be present. All “special category data” collected will be used at an aggregate level to monitor industry trends and, like other data included in survey responses, will only be used for statistical purposes and not to target or identify an individual. If your respondent answers NO, they will continue to complete the questionnaire; OR If they say NO, but have already answered certain questions containing sensitive personal data before answering that question (in case you didn`t ask it correctly at first), you`ll need to manually delete their collected data. The deletion of data is your own responsibility and is done either through our individual respondent deletion function or through your exported data and then delete the entire survey from your account. Again, it`s pretty simple. Does this apply to your satisfaction surveys? Probably not, unless the nature of your business falls into one of the above categories. For example, if you`re dealing with a very specific health issue, every client who completes your survey will make it clear that they have that condition, so, yes, your feedback forms are sensitive. If you truly think your research and use of data is respectful of your respondents, then you don`t feel like you need consent. Just make sure you`re completely transparent about “how” and “why” you plan to use the data in your survey process.
Also give people the option to contact you for more information or unsubscribe. Otherwise, you will need to obtain your consent. If you are hiring an approved contractor to conduct the survey on your behalf, please send your sample declaration form to your approved contractor. Reviews may be important to some businesses, but treat them as a separate process – it`s not a brilliant customer experience to be asked to give a review before you`re asked if you`re satisfied. But if you really want to tie them to your feedback process, now you know how to stay legal. Another example is that the GDPR also applies to employees. Even if you`re creating a survey that collects data from people you already know, think about who has access to the information. A colleague`s home address cannot be shared with another colleague who wishes to send a birthday card unless that colleague has consented to the sharing of that address. For example, if you ask employees in a certain department in your office to participate in an anonymous survey where you ask them what age group they belong to and what gender they belong to.
